Gundi Spirit: Tabatana – Strength in Unity
At Lomagundi College Schools, we take pride in our Gundi Spirit, which is deeply rooted in the Shona word Tabatana, meaning togetherness and unity. This spirit is evident in everything we do, from our sporting teams, cultural events, and inter-house competitions to everyday student interactions. It fosters a culture of camaraderie, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging, ensuring that every student is proud to be a part of the Lomagundi family.
Through our rich boarding life, strong community values, and unwavering Gundi Spirit, Lomagundi College Schools nurtures students who are independent, confident, and ready to take on the world!
A Home Away from Home
We provide a warm and caring boarding experience that feels like an extended family. Our hostels are overseen by dedicated resident matrons who ensure that each child is cared for, guided, and supported in their home away from home.
- Comfortable Facilities: Each hostel is equipped with entertainment areas, common rooms with DSTV, toys, and working desks, creating an inviting space for both study and relaxation.
- Pastoral Care: Teachers living on campus provide additional supervision during meal times, afternoon activities, and evening prep, ensuring a structured and secure environment.
- Balanced Nutrition: Meals are freshly prepared three times a day in the main dining hall, offering a well-balanced diet to support growth and energy levels.
Boarding Options:
- Weekly Boarding : Students board from Monday to Friday, either arriving at school with parents or making use of the weekly bus service from Chinhoyi. This allows them to balance boarding life with family time on weekends.
- Full Boarding : Students stay at school for three-week cycles, returning home only for Fixture Free weekends and Mid-Term breaks. A bus service is available to Chegutu, Harare, and Marondera for added convenience.
Weekends in boarding follow a structured routine, with engaging activities such as nature walks, movie nights, Sunday school, and letter writing to parents.
